                      SCHOOL IS CLOSED ON MONDAY, MAY 26TH FOR MEMORIAL DAY

Attention all French students:  If you are traveling this summer with Mr. Moran to France, Belgium, and Switzerland, your final meeting before departure will be on May 27th, at 7pm, in the Springhouse Auditorium.  Please plan on being in attendance.

Guidance

8th grade students - The deadline for course changes for 9th grade is Friday, May 30th.  No changes will be accepted after May 30th.  If you need to make a change to your course requests for 9th grade, please pick up a course change form in the Guidance Office.

Attention 6th and 7th grade students:

The last day to make course changes for the 2025/2026 school year is June 10th.  If you would like to make a change please pick up a green course change form in the guidance office.

ATHLETICS

Football

Any students interested in playing Football next Fall

6th Graders (next year’s 7th graders) will be invited to join Spring football workouts starting on Tuesday, May 6th. We will work out on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school @ Orefield MS until 4:10pm.  See Schoology for additional information.  Group access code: W926-T3S8-GJ5ZM 

7th and 8th Graders

Football workouts  @ OMS (SMS students may take the activity bus over to OMS). Current 8th graders will lift on Mondays and Wednesdays while current 7th graders will lift on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Current 6th graders will be invited to join the 7th graders later in the Spring. Any questions please contact Coach Lessel @ Lesselj@parklandsd.net. or reach out via Schoology message.

 

TRANSPORTATION

SHUTTLE BUS

  • If you are going to SMS or PHS it is your responsibility to let your last teacher know that you need to be dismissed at 2:20 so you can catch the 2:28 shuttle bus to SMS/PHS. This is bus #122 and will be located in front of the field house.
  • If you are going to PHS and you miss the above bus you may take the second bus which will take you directly to PHS. That will be bus #133. However, this is only to be used if you miss the above bus. Students should not purposely hang around or intentionally be dismissed late to take the second bus.

 

LATE ACTIVITY BUS

The Late Activity Bus leaves Orefield promptly at 4:20. This shuttle bus takes students to Parkland High School, where the students board the appropriate Late Activity Bus depending on their address. This bus leaves the high school at 4:35 and may have high school students on it as well. BUS PASSES WILL ONLY BE ISSUED FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS THIS YEAR!

LATE ARRIVALS AND EARLY PICK-UPS

  • IMPORTANT: All students must report to the main office to sign in when coming to school late and all students must report to the main office to sign out when being picked up early from school for appointments.
  • STUDENTS: Please be aware that you are not allowed in the building (using the auditorium entrance) prior to 7:30. In the unfortunate case that you must be dropped off earlier than 7:15, you should be dropped off at the main entrance and must wait in the vestibule until the doors open at 7:30

PARENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

Parent drop-off/pick-up is located at the auditorium entrance on the south side of the building, facing Burger King. Enter parent drop-off/pick-up from the rear of the building using Stadium Road. Students are required to be in homeroom by 7:45 to be marked present.

After 7:45 students must enter the building through the main entrance and sign in at the main office.


Due to numerous issues: Microwavable popcorn will not be allowed during lunches

Forgotten Gym Bags – Due to the large number of students who forget their gym clothing, it is your responsibility to check the vestibule for your gym bag before your class begins.

All 8th grade girl soccer players interested in being a part of the Parkland High School Soccer Program are asked to attend along with your parent(s). Tuesday May 20th from 8:00 pm – 8:50PM at the High School in Room E-102. Please enter the Athletic Wing Doors in the front of the school. The meeting starts exactly at 8pm. Information about our program, off-season training opportunities, tryout info, season expectations all will be covered. NEW information from last meeting. CHEERLEADERS SHOULD BE DISMISSED AT 2:20PM to take the Shuttle Bus #131 to Troxell for Open Gym/Tryouts.   Today, Thursday, May 15th. Make sure you get on BUS 131.

ATTENTION CURRENT 8th graders interested in running XC at PHS:

OUR FIRST MEETING WILL BE TUESDAY MAY 20th after school in the PHS Cafeteria from 3-4pm. You can take the 4:30pm activity bus home from PHS if you need a ride. See you all then!

OMS 8th graders - you are dismissed at 2:20pm to the fieldhouse on May 20th .  Board the 2:25pm activity bus to SMS and continue onto PHS.  Proceed to the PHS cafeteria for the meeting.

*NOTE - all current 6th and 7th graders - We will post a meeting date for you in the near future.

 

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

ATTENTION CURRENT 8th grade Girls interested in VOLLEYBALL @ THE HIGH SCHOOL
